Volunteering is one of the strengths of Greenheart. With the exception of two members who have accepted partial salaries for their long hours of work, we are all volunteering here. Through the passion, insight, and the hard work of our volunteers, our project has made huge strides, especially in the past few months. Our volunteers' time and skills are a precious resource which we sincerely appreciate.

You don't need any specialized skills to volunteer for Greenheart. Volunteering is open to everyone: our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, professions and ages with a wide range of skills and experiences.

There is no minimum time requirement, either. If you can spare even a few hours a week to advance the project, please get in touch with us. A big part of the personal satisfaction of volunteering here is the opportunity to meet and work with idealistic, motivated people from all around the world, while being personally involved in real solutions to pressing global problems.

What you can do now

Even if you only have a few hours a month, there are many things you can do for Greenheart:
  • Translate
  • Cooperate in Fundraising activities
  • Support campaigns
  • Do Internet research on our Issues
  • Tell your friends about Greenheart
  • Organize events in your communities about Greenheart and its values
  • Collect letters of support from like-minded org's and luminaries
  • Help Greenheart to increase its links with academic and commercial entities

Benefits

Volunteering is an altruistic activity, however we think it is important to thank our volunteers.
Volunteers will receive:
  • An invitation to attend the ship's launch
  • An invitation to attend ship arrival festivals around the world
And another incentive program for the most active that rewards volunteer commitment with a chance to join the crew of the first Greenheart ship.
  • 1 week on board for volunteers with more than 100 hours per year.
  • 2 weeks for those with more than 250 hours per year.
  • 1 month for volunteers with more than 350 hours per year.

This is, of course, rewarding volunteering with volunteering, but we recognize that the opportunity to sail with an inspirational campaign ship is a powerful motivator, and we're leveraging our 'clean sailing ship adventure' in every way possible in order to achieve our goals.
